Short summary

This project aims to reform local self-government system in Serbia by enhancing decentralization, resource use for service delivery as well as more effective implementation of competences at the local level. It focuses on implementing key legal frameworks in the area of local self-government system, building capacity in local self-governments, and improving inter-municipal cooperation. Additionally, it seeks to enhance the Business Information System contributing to the implementation of the Planning System Law. The project ultimately strives to increase citizen participation and strengthen local governance.

Objectives

Systemic reforms aimed at strengthening local administrations in accordance with the Public Administration Reform Strategy led to more efficient local self-government units, better services, participatory-democratic processes, and fact-based planning at the local level for the benefit of the citizens of Serbia.
